"I wanted double glazing for two bay windows, a bathroom window and replacement glass for two existing windows. Well, after meeting Paul through this website we agreed on a price which I thought was very reasonable and paid a deposit. We even agreed future work to an existing porch. A late afternoon before the job was to commence Paul rang to cancel. How inconvenient I thought, as I had already taken the time off work. A week later Paul arrived and work commenced. However he left everyday at lunchtime for 3 out of the 4 days he worked for us. Needless to say the job was incomplete. Paul promised to return the following week to finish. Silly old me I paid in full. Since then Paul has never answered my calls or replied to my emails. The certificates for the glass installed have never arrived in the post as he promised thus not validating the glass installed. The quality of the work that was carried out has been very poor as the interior panels are falling off. This whole experience has knocked my confidence and has left me feeling very low about this entire situation. What makes this worse is that I am a qualified Architect who got duped. I would not go near this business if I was out there. I've been trying to check if Paul business “Installations” has been self certified and registered with Fensa and with the Glazing and Glass Federation (GGF). Unfortunately for me it seems not. They have no record of the company. What this means for me is that all the Glass installed and work Paul has carried has no approval by April 2002 Building Regulations Act for replacement glazing, thus deeming it unworthy and non compliant. Again what this means for me is that when selling my property I can not recover the cost for the windows as I hold no approved certificates for there installation quality or thermal energy quality. I have had another double glazing firm to inspect Paul's work. They concluded the installation is of a poor quality most noticeably being the external finish. The internal panels were falling off and were able to see that in some places they found it to be incomplete and not fully insulated. They quoted a further £1000 to rectify all the problems and could not guarantee the standard of the glass was the Pilkington K Glass energy rated A - I paid for. This whole experience has been a nightmare for us. I wish I had never met Paul and his company. I wouldn' t recommend this man to my worst enemy and my advise would be to stay well clear."
