What does Shelter do?
Shelter alleviates the suffering caused by homelessness and bad housing by helping people find and keep a decent, permanent home. Shelter also strives to achieve long-term solutions to the housing crisis by lobbying government and local authorities for new laws and policies, and by campaigning to bring aspects of the housing crisis – such as overcrowding, or the shortage of affordable homes – to public attention.
