A house has been painted and rendered with pebbledash and needs some attention around the uPVC windows.
Over the last few years the area between the window edge and the rendering has peeled away. The rendering is in good condition and firmly stuck to the wall. What's the best solution for repairing the damage before it gets worse?
"It would be best to find the cause for the paint losing its bond. It is possible that water may be getting in behind the paint."
Mark Hitchen, M H Plastering Services
Mark is a sole trader who likes to stick to what he knows. And that's plastering and rendering! He believes in a fair price for quality work. All jobs he takes on as if he were working on his own home. He covers the South West of England.
"Best course of action is to hack off the peeling area and render again. You may need to check no moisture is present on the brickwork behind as this is what would be causing it to break away. If moisture is present this would need to be dealt with prior to rendering."
