Four Velux™ windows have been fitted in a roof and three are letting water in during rain. It's more like a slow seepage of water as opposed to it pouring in.
I think it's pooling somewhere, travelling down the joists till it hits something and then leaks through the plaster at a point either around or directly below the Velux™. Is this something to do with the flashing being incorrectly installed or the wrong type of flashing kit being used? What can be done to sort this problem out?
"This problem sounds to me like the flashings around the leaking Velux™ windows may not have been installed properly. It can't be that the wrong type of flashing kit has been used as the correct flashing kit should be supplied with the window. The only way to solve this problem in the right way is to have the surrounding areas of the leaking windows stripped out and refitted properly. Another option is to apply a sealant around the leaking windows but this would only be a quick fix solution and not a long-term repair."

"The problem could be broken tiles above the window allowing water to travel down the felt which in turn would result in water finding its way in through the felt. The felt may not have been installed properly without any up-stand from the sides of the windows or not having proper up-stand to the front or the back of the windows. To sort this problem out the tiles around the windows should be removed you should then take all the flashing kits off and check all the felt around the windows, making sure it has felt upstands all around the windows. Once you've done this, re-fix all the flashing kits securely making sure they all fit tight and retile around the windows keeping the tiles to the side of the sponge. The slates should be kept as close to the window as possible with a soaker under each slate."
