The steps to follow
- First lead the aerial cable to a splitter unit. A splitter unit usually has one input and two outputs located on its faceplate.
- Plan your cable routes from the splitter unit to the socket and to the house.
- Fit a mounting box if you're planning to wall-mount the socket outlets.
- You'll need to make a mounting hole in the wall to fit the mounting box. Thread the aerial cable along the planned cable route from the splitter position to the socket outlet.
- Secure these cables to the wall with cable clips.
- Before you connect the cables, use a wire stripper and strip the ends of the cables, remove about 15 mm (1/2 in).
- Clamp the cable into the splitter socket.
- Plug the cable into the socket and the TV set.
- Turn your TV on to see if the aerial cable has been properly installed. If not, check that the cables in the splitter unit and socket outlet are properly connected, or call a certified electrician to solve your problem.
