How to waterproof a wall

What you need
- Tape measure
- Waterproof panel
- Fine tooth hacksaw
- Putty knife
- Putty
- Sandpaper
- Damp cloth
- Adhesive
- Mastic trowel
- Laminate roller
- Caulking gun
- Caulk
The steps to follow
- Measure the wall area where you’ll install the waterproofing panels.
- Use a fine tooth hacksaw to cut the panels to the required size.
- Smooth the edges of the panels with medium grade sandpaper.
- Remove the tiles from the wall.
- Fill any holes or cracks in the wall with putty.
- Smooth the surface with medium grade sandpaper.
- Use a damp cloth to clean the surface area.
- Now that the area is clean and clear of debris, you can install the waterproofing panels.
- Use a mastic trowel to evenly spread the adhesive on the entire area of the waterproofing panels.
- Place the panels against the wall and press firmly.
- Roll a laminate roller over the area to ensure that the adhesive is evenly applied to the wall.
- Remove any excess adhesive from the edges with a putty knife.
- Apply caulk paste onto the edges of the panels. To ensure a water-tight installation, apply caulk paste around the corner where two panels butt together.
