Here are some tips in locating a broken drainage pipe under your house:
- If your water bill tends to be unusually high, then it could be that you have a broken drainage pipe.
- Look at the condition of your septic tank. If it's overflowing with water, then the drainage pipe might have burst.
- Also check the underground waterline.
- Check for softer soil in your garden or puddles in the ground.
- If in your garden, a spot in your grass is greener than other areas, it could be that there's a broken pipe underground.
- If you suspect that you have a broken drainage pipe which you cannot locate, it is best to hire a thermal camera to locate it or call in a professional plumber to solve the problem.
