What you need

  • Emulsion paint
  • Acrylic paint
  • Pencils, colours, and paper
  • Paint brushes
  • Acrylic glaze to finish the project

The steps to follow

  1. Sketch your wall frieze design on a piece of drawing paper.
  2. Prepare your wall before you transfer the wall frieze design to the wall. Paint the wall background with a colour of your choice.
  3. With a pencil and ruler, lightly draw or trace out the elements of your wall frieze design on the wall. If you want to draw a straight edge, apply masking tape down on both sides to create a guiding line.
  4. You can also make a template to replicate the elements of your wall frieze design. Draw the elements of your design on a piece of cardboard. Cut out the shape with a pair of scissors.
  5. Place this template on the wall surface and trace with a pencil.
  6. Use a paintbrush to paint the design.
  7. If you choose not to use a template, you can also draw the design freehand. Draw the design with a soft pencil on the wall and paint over the line.

Note:
Wall friezes can be drawn on walls, wooden doors, or ceilings.
