How to paint wooden floor

What you need
- Dust mask
- Goggles
- Trim paint brush
- Small container
- Paint roller
- Paint tray
- Latex floor paint
The steps to follow
- Make sure that your room is well ventilated and that you keep your windows open.
- Sand and prime your floorboard.
- If the floor already has a coat of paint, you will need to strip it.
- Wash the newly stripped floor with white spirit and let it dry.
- Apply a coat of primer to the whole floor before you apply the paint.
- Mix the paint with a stick and pour it into a small container.
- Cut in the edges with a trim paint brush first. Protect the walls from paint by placing masking tape along the edges where you will cut in.
- Pour paint into a paint tray and daub your roller.
- Start by painting at the corner furthest from the door.
- Apply the paint in the along the floorboard.
- Wait for at least 24 hours before applying the second coat of paint.
- Seal the floor with 2 or 3 coats of sealer and let it dry.
