How to remove tiles from a plasterboard

Removing tiles from plasterboard is a fairly complicated procedure but the simplest way to re-tile your plasterboard is to remove it, fit a new one and re-tile. However, if you don't want to remove all the plasterboard, here's what you should do.

Level2 - Intermediate

What you need

  • Brick bolster
  • Sandpaper
  • Plaster
  • Trowel
  • Joint knife

The steps to follow

  1. Carefully drive the blade of the brick bolster under the edge of the tile.
  2. Continue step 1 until all the tiles have been removed.
  3. Next, sand and plaster the surface

Note:
If the surface of the plasterboard is stripped off while chopping away the tiles, you can either replace it or repair it.
