Radio antennae & satellite dishes

Before you buy an antenna it's worth making sure whether you need planning permission to install one as this will depend on your locality.

Also check whether you need listed building consent (if you live in a listed building) or your landlord's permission, if you're a tenant of the property.

For antennae and satellite dishes there are a number of conditions that apply which may mean you need planning permission. You also need to be aware that you are responsible for where you fit the antenna to your home. This means that if you attach the antenna in the wrong place, according to what you local planning authority dictates, you will be forced to remove the antenna and fix it in an appropriate position at your own cost.
