Changing a residence into a shop

Planning permission would be required for this as you'd be changing your property into a different class within the planning system.

Generally you'll find that local planning authorities have designated shopping or commercial areas within their planning policies and converting a property outside of these areas would be really difficult especially in wholly residential areas.

While permission is not required before you start, if the permission is refused for whatever reason you will be forced to change the property back to what it was before and undo any changes made. Note that you may also require consent from your landlord or landowner to change your residence into a shop.
