Lighting (external)

There's no need to apply for planning permission for external security lights but you need to make sure that the lights you install (either for security or any other purpose) does not affect others.

You'll need to test the intensity and the direction of the light emitted. If you live in a listed building, you'll have to get listed building consent for any significant works be they internal or external.
