Our mission is to connect the very best local tradespeople with home improvers that value their service.

Every month we connect over 15,000 people with expert tradespeople in their local area to help them with their home improvement jobs. So far, members have used Rated People in over 200,000 jobs.

At the end of every job, we ask customers to leave fair, unbiased ratings on the quality, value and reliability of the tradesperson they chose. These ratings help others to make informed choices and also help the best tradespeople to build their reputations.

How does Rated People help tradespeople?

Every day, thousands of new, high quality jobs are posted on to the Rated People website.

Tell us what work you are looking for, where you're based and how far you want to travel and we’ll text you or email you when matching jobs come in. Then let us know if you want to quote and we’ll connect up to three tradespeople for those jobs. To make it fair, you'll never have to quote against more than two other tradespeople on any one job.

How did it all start?

Rated People was founded in 2005 by Andy Skipwith after a builder walked out half way through a home renovation project, leaving him and his family in the middle of a messy building site, and significantly out of pocket. Andy was determined to find a way to help other homeowners connect with professional, reliable tradespeople, and Rated People was born.

Rated People is now the UK’s largest trade recommendation service, helping to connect over 15,000 people with expert tradespeople each month.
