Brits 'converting garages into offices'

A growing number of builders in Leeds and other cities around the UK could be gaining interest from home owners looking to add another dimension to their house.

This is because, according to founder of Zachary Design Stefan Zachary, they are beginning to realise the potential certain parts of their property have.

He claimed garages are no longer used to store cars and are instead being converted into office space or extra accommodation.

Similarly, a number of individuals are starting to do the same with their lofts and attics, Mr. Zachary stated.

He believes this is due to the growing trend for flexible working.

"Any city in Britain is full of empty office space now - I think a lot of the people who used to work in offices and travel into work are now working from home," the expert concluded.

At the end of last month, Mr. Zachary also pointed out that hard floors are becoming more popular than carpets as home owners want materials that are going to last for a long time.
