Builder in Redditch creates ecohomes

A number of green homes have been built in Redditch, which the firm behind the project claims are 40% cheaper to run than normal
residential property.
The development includes houses that have a number of energy-saving devices allied with increased insulation to help cut the amount of power needed to heat and light the properties, the Birmingham Mail relayed.
Redditch Co-operative Homes is behind the scheme, which has seen dwellings developed from timber panels and constructed using close to 50% less carbon dioxide than traditionally-built houses. The properties also feature solar hot water and photovoltaic solar tiles.
Carl Taylor from the group said: "This unique development will not only provide high-quality, low-cost housing but will help to combat global warming by slashing CO2 emissions."
A total of 19 houses are in the Walton Close development and home owners with existing properties could visit the site to see what sort of measures have been introduced that they can implement in their own abode.
