Being a builder could be a sound foundation for hitting the jackpot on the lottery, according to a new poll.
Construction workers such as bricklayers, electricians and plumbers have topped Camelot's National Lottery Lucky Professions List with wins totalling more than £1 billion.
Builders were ahead of secretaries and administrators in second place, with management and manufacturing in third and fourth.
The figures are based on all lottery prize winners who have landed a windfall of more than £50,000.
Colin Stuart from Dorking in Surrey became the latest builder to strike it rich in January, when his family syndicate won over £26.1 million on the EuroMillions draw.
The tradesman, whose father George had bought the winning ticket, said he intends set up his children with their own residential property - and he is already planning some home improvements.
Mr. Stuart added that despite the windfall, he has "no doubt" the family building firm will continue.
