Daniel Labbad appointed as UKGBC chair

Edited by Tom Bardsley.Eco-conscious builders' industry body the UK Green Building Council (UKGBC) has announced the appointment of Daniel Labbad as its new chairman.
The European chief executive officer of Lend Lease succeeds Peter Rogers in the role, with his appointment effective from 10th February.
Paul King, chief executive of the UKGBC, says: "I'm looking forward to working with Dan in what will be a really exciting period for the organisation."
He adds a note of thanks to Mr. Rogers for the leadership and inspiration he has delivered to the Council during its formative years.
The UKGBC adds that the present is a "crucial time" for the industry as a whole, with builders being looked to by the government as part of attempts to meet the current targets for sustainability in the housing market.
According to the Council, the building industry has the potential to lead efforts to find solutions and ways to act on climate change and related environmental issues affecting the world as a whole.
