Eco-friendly events on offer in South Yorkshire

Events designed to get the whole family thinking about how to become more environmentally friendly are set to get underway in South Yorkshire during the next three weeks.Beginning this week at Heeley City Farm, visitors will be able to take part in a number of energy efficient activities, including playing a recycling game and working together to design their own eco-friendly dream home.
The events are to take place at the South Yorkshire Energy Centre on specific days until September 5th, according to the Sheffield Telegraph, so it is best for families to check ahead if they plan to attend.
Heeley City Farm features the region's renewable energy centre, which offers demonstrations of solar and wind power, as well as advice about how home owners can incorporate these energy efficient technologies into their own properties.
The site also includes a peat-free garden centre, a collection of domestic animals - including prizewinning goats - and a recycling and composting facility.
