Concrete houses could play a key role in the future energy efficiency of the UK's property portfolio, according to building products manufacturer Lafarge.
The company is due to exhibit at the Building Council for Sustainable Development's People.Space.Movement exhibition in Coventry on 22nd March.
Among the issues addressed in its presentation are to be the application of concrete in house-building as a means of improving energy efficiency, along with general eco-friendly innovation in the concrete industry.
Lafarge is also due to let those in attendance know the ways in which it is innovating in the fields of quarry regeneration and through partnerships with architects.
Jeremy Greenwood, managing director of Lafarge Readymix, says: "We believe that operating our businesses successfully and sustainably go hand in hand."
Lafarge adds that it works with architects, builders and promoters on the advancement of sustainable products and building techniques as part of its commitment to driving environmental friendliness forward in the construction industry.
