10/06/09
The 17th
Gardeners' World Live event opened its doors today (June 10th) in Birmingham.
On the
Gardeners' World blog, Adam Pasco said visitors to the show, which runs until Sunday June 14th, are in for a "real treat".
The
Gardeners' World team will be on hand all week, filming for Friday's special on the show and appearing on the event's various stages, he wrote.
Mr. Pasco added that he will be joining Alys Fowler and Kevin Smith from
Gardeners' World magazine to demonstrate "practical and money-savings recycling ideas", while Monty Don will be on hand for a couple of days at the Grow Your Own stage.
In addition, Mr. Pasco said he and Pippa Greenwood will be offering tips on pest control, with an appearance from some captive lily beetles.
Visitors will also get a chance to rub shoulders with some of the
Gardeners' World experts in the Taste of Greenacre garden, where they can see how the programme's new TV garden was created, while also getting a chance to explore the potting shed and city veg patch.
Gardeners' World Live is running alongside the Good Food Summer Festival at the Birmingham NEC.
