Initiative helps residential property become environmentally friendly

A scheme aimed at people with
residential property has helped them maintain
energy efficiency in their homes for ten years.
The Suffolk Energy Action Link (Seal) has announced that it is celebrating a decade of improving the carbon footprint of the region.
Households can benefit from free or discounted cavity wall and loft insulation, interest-free loans and solar heating engineers via links provided by the scheme.
It has also set up a freephone number for people to call for advice and information regarding a variety of services in the area, including the Warm Front grants.
Home owners who would like to boost the
energy efficiency of their property may choose to call on an engineer to fit a low carbon central heating system.
Cabinet member for housing councillor Ian Slemmings said: "Seal was in many ways a green pioneer, as the services it offers means that it is much easier for our residents to reduce their domestic carbon footprint."
According to the Energy Saving Trust, by installing insulation people could save £115 a year on their bills and 610 kg of CO2.
