Summits to showcase green building

03/09/09
Two summits taking place in North America later this month will give builders, real estate professionals, policymakers and residential property owners the opportunity to learn more about the benefits of green construction.

First up is the Green Building Summit, which takes place in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on September 15th.

The summit will showcase the benefits of improving the energy efficiency and sustainability of residential property, as well as the resources available for green building and the tax breaks on offer to both builders and home owners.

It will feature an appearance by Mark LaLiberte, who has some 20 years' experience of educating the construction industry about the benefits of building green houses.

Later in the month on September 23rd, the World Green Building Council will host its Leaders Summit in Toronto, Canada.

The conference will bring together industry leaders and policymakers from around the world to hear about the benefits of green construction in tackling carbon emissions ahead of December's Copenhagen summit on the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.

Speakers will include India-based architect and interior designer Karan Grover and Obama administration adviser Frank Biden.
