Sustainable home improvements 'still important'

Property owners in the UK still consider sustainability an important factor in their
home improvement projects.
This is the opinion of Matt Hunt, spokesman for BritishEco.com, who said individuals desire environmentally-friendly residences and are keen to take advantage of government schemes.
His comments followed a recent report by Thinkinsulation.com, which found 80 per cent of home owners had failed to upgrade their insulation within the last three years.
Mr. Hunt said: "Maybe it's not that people are getting bored of the climate change information, it's just that they can't afford to even contemplate it at the moment."
However, he said there are financial incentives for taking on such
home improvements - including Feed-in Tariffs and photovoltaic schemes - which can encourage people to think about making the switch.
The latest Energy Saving Trust Attitude Tracker found two-thirds of individuals are looking at ways to save on fuel bills since the economic downturn occurred.
