Firms are applying for their place on a new course outlining the latest research of the emerging green building sector.
Organised by the UK Green Building Council (UKGBC), the Sustainability Training and Education Programme (Step) will be launched on 6th September and will involve up to 100 students.
According to BusinessGreen, a number of
builders and property firms have already registered their interest in the initiative, including Willmott Dixon, GVA Grimley and Cushman & Wakefield.
Chad Harrell, director of operations and business development at UKGBC, said: "There's a wide variety of companies looking to commit double digits to triple digits of their employees to go on this course right away."
He added that the organisation expects more big firms to be adding their names to the enrolment list.
The UKGBC aims to improve the sustainability of the environment by introducing new methods of construction, design, maintenance and planning.
