Specialist services job in N5

Chris came to do a quote for some work, which in the end it turned out isn't needed. He gave great impartial advice, suggesting an alternative (much cheaper) solution and was very organised in arranging the appointment. I would highly recommend.

Images of Our Work

1) Under pavement vault, Oxford street, London. To be used for document storage. At present leaking badly
2)Completed job
3) Underpavement toilet. Water comming through the vault and floor, complicated design and with plumbing passing through the walls.
4) The completed job
5) this vault had been "tanked" twice previously by others, both failed!Through investigation I found that the "leaks" were in fact CONDENSATION only. The installation of fan solved the problem at a fraction of the cost of tanking .
6)This was a 1st floor deck with sky lights that had leaked since construction, ten years earlier. I installed a waterproof membrane on the deck and then fitted new 25mm glass and sealed them. Others completed the tiling.
7)Not all walls require tanking. Here is an example of a paint on latex slurry. This must only be done in combination with drainage systems.
8) An example of a humidity controlled , input and output fan to control black spot mould. It is almost silent, with low energy consumption, fully automatic and tamper proof.
9)Deemed as rising dampness by others, treatments had no effect. This is a perfect example of hygroscopic dampness. The moisture is comming out of the air and is being absorbed by defective plaster.Seen mostly around new electrical fittings.
10)Polyurathane resin injection. Sometimes the foam comes out of unexpected places!
The resin "chases" water and dampness through the structure.
If there are no existing waterproofing systems that will work, I will design one.
This under pavement room, not vaulted, was not of sufficient structural strength to withstand a tanking system or suitable for a cavity membrane system.
