  3. How does this service differ from the long established HomePro.com, I understand they also provide matchmaking from homeowner to trade, and have a large number of trades people as members?? Can you let me know?

    Thanks Mark

    1. Hi Mark,

As we understand it, HomePro.com is a directory, which RatedPeople.com is not. On our site, homeowners post the home improvement jobs they need help with and tradesmen buy these leads to get the homeowner’s contact information. This means that homeowners are only approached by tradesmen who are genuinely interested in that specific job, unlike a directory. Up to 3 tradesmen can get in touch with a homeowner to quote, whereupon the homeowner can read their previous customer reviews and ratings and view images of past projects.

RatedPeople.com has over 30,000 tradesmen registered on the site and has more than one million homeowner jobs posted to date. We hope this helps explaining the service better.

  5. Hi i used rated people for nearly 2 months and i realised it didnt work for me,i have made numerous requests to deactivate my account but no one ever replied me from rated people,i think this is not a good customer service. I again request you to please cancel my account.
    Many thanks

    1. Hi Shahid,

I can see that the team sent you an email response to your cancellation request on the 23rd August. This email explained that we need to speak with the account holder over the phone before an account can be closed. You would need to ring the Customer care team on 0345 117 8000 between the hours of 10am and 5pm.

      Thanks,
      Natalie

  6. What happens when you have work that is unsatisfactory and the tradesman does not respond to the complaint? I know I can leave a negative rating but really do want to give the tradesman a chance to put it right first. How long do I wait for a response and if I am not satisfied have I any recourse. Unfortunately I handed over £150 in cash before I had a proper chance to inlet the work.

    1. Hi Ian,

I’m sorry to hear this. Have you spoken with our Customer care team about this? If not, I’d like you to have a chat with them as they’ll be happy to offer you advice on what to do next. You can reach them through our Contact page at http://www.ratedpeople.com/contact-us.

      Thanks,
      Natalie
