Bathrooms ‘are an in vogue home improvement’

When it comes to home improvements it is important to stay ahead of the game, allowing your property to remain fresh and trendy at all times.

This can mean focusing on rooms at a particular time of year and choosing styles that are sure to bring out the very best in them.

At the moment, the most fashionable feature to do up is your bathroom, in the opinion of interior designer George Bond.

He has spoken of the benefits of targeting this space over the winter – something a great number of Britons are said to be doing.

Mr Bond claimed the number one trend of the current season is the installation of hi-tech bathrooms.

“Even in old houses, they seem to want hi-tech bathrooms. Baths themselves – I’m not putting a lot of them in. Clients seem to be wanting hi-tech showers. In my own bathroom, I have a Jacuzzi,” he explained.

And it is not only the primary features – such as the shower, sink and toilet – that are crucial to the overall look and feel of your wash room.

Mr Bond told how accessories, decorations and soft furnishings can go a long way towards creating a luxury and modern area.

“In bathrooms, I used to get asked a lot to do drapes but not now – it’s all plantation shutters – they are huge,” he stated.

These features are always bespoke, so you can be sure that the design of your bathroom is different to not only your friends and neighbours but, in all likelihood, everybody in your town.

Another top-quality investment for the bathroom identified by Mr Bond is underfloor heating, which he said “seems to be the thing to use”.

Last week, the interior designer told how kitchen makeovers are a good project to undertake, suggesting it is not uncommon for many in the UK to spend £100,000 on this room.
