Britons ‘missing out on energy-efficient homes’ 11/28/2011 4:02:15 PM

A large number of people in the UK could benefit from calling in builders in Cambridge in a bid to make their homes more energy-efficient.

New figures from uSwitch.com suggest that some five million Britons are currently missing out on the benefits of going green at their residential address. Just 19 per cent are said to have made their homes as energy-efficient as possible, with the cost cited as a key worry among 48 per cent of people.

But splashing out on green improvements can have a lasting effect, as energy consumption is reduced and heating and lighting bills come crashing down. “With winter approaching and energy bills having rocketed … within the last year, it’s more important than ever that consumers are able to cut back on the amount of energy they use,” said Kevin Sears, energy efficiency expert at the website.

Claire Raven, of Solar Panels 4U, recently told how solar panels are a great green addition to a home and can be seen as an investment in the future.
