There are a number of “barriers” facing people who are looking to self-build. This is according to Jason Orme, editor at Homebuilding & Renovating magazine, who noted individuals do not have the same network of contacts that developers can rely upon. Because of this, choosing to use professionals – such as builders in Lincoln – may be a method that causes fewer headaches in the long run.
While Mr. Orme observed there are various policies designed to make it easier for those who want to go it alone, many potential home owners may take the option of using experienced personnel. It could bring added costs, but it will also reduce worries and allow people to concentrate on other things.
Barry Sutcliffe, an expert in the self-building field, recently noted the sector can be very confusing as there has been an explosion in the amount of information available for interested parties.
