British homeowners could turn to gardeners in order to complete vital jobs on their lawn and foliage throughout the winter.
Leigh Hunt, principal horticultural advisor at the Royal Horticultural Society, explained that while some of the most common activities in the garden do not need to be completed during the cold season, there is still plenty to be getting on with.
She recommended focusing on the lawn, as this can still need cutting throughout the winter, even over Christmas.
However, this is not to be done when the grass is either wet or frozen, so waiting for the right day is essential.
Ms Hunt went on to note that watering containers to make sure they do not dry out is another wise move.
Alys Fowler, writing for the Guardian, recently told how completing gardening work during the winter is a good way to put right any mistakes that were made over the summer.
