Pastel colours ‘are a must when decorating the home’

People who hire decorators to do up their homes have been advised that pastel colours should be considered a must.

Simpler PR has spoken on the subject of interior design, noting such shades are the “bread and butter of a home”. It suggested using pastel tones this spring, when they are sure to “hit the catwalks” and subsequently make the transition from cutting-edge fashion to interiors.

These colours “never seem to go out of style” and provide the perfect look for almost any abode. Among the exact tones recommended by the agency are pretty pink, baby blue and lemon yellow, all of which will help to keep spaces light and airy.

Homeowners can even add themes such as polka dots or stripes which is said to increase the light-hearted nature of a room. Adrienne Chinn, director of AdrienneChinn.co.uk, recently said turquoise is a colour that will be extremely trendy to use in 2012.
