Professional boiler advice could help firms save £400m

Businesses in the UK have been told they can save a combined £400 million if they take measures to improve the efficiency of their boilers. The Carbon Trust has issued a new report that states simple, low-cost actions are enough to trigger a significant saving.

Indeed, it recommended taking a closer look at boilers to check whether there are any features that can be improved – something a professional tradesman may be best qualified to do.
Figures from AA Home Emergency Response Service recently showed eight per cent of Britons do not get their boiler serviced when they should. It seems this trend is being repeated among companies, many of whom could be paying over the odds as a result of not maintaining their heating systems.

Richard Rugg, director of the Carbon Trust Programmes, said: “Heating water uses a huge amount of energy so if you want to cut your bill and boost your bottom line, checking your boiler is not a bad place to start.”
