There could be few additions to the home that will have such a tremendous impact as solar panels.
Andrew Leech, director at the National Home Improvement Council, has revealed himself to be the latest fan of the eco-friendly installation. He described adding solar panels to a home as a “big advantage” and something that will trigger a rise in savings on energy bills.
Solar panels have admittedly seen their effectiveness hit by changes to feed-in tariffs, but they remain a good long-term investment. However, Mr Leech noted the state of the economy could put many people off the idea of investing in them right now, despite the potential to become more environmentally-friendly and slash money from electricity and gas bills.
Jessica Forster, energy doctor at the Energy Saving Trust, recently said that another way to become more energy-efficient is to make a home less leaky, which will also have a positive impact in terms of comfort.
