Trend Alert: pendant clusters

The pendant cluster is everywhere, it went from kooky cool to high street in a lightning flash. Pendants are great because when one just isn’t enough, if you arrange them in a cluster, it doesn’t seem to be possible to have too many.

Lighting is a very important aspect of home décor and a great opportunity for a design statement. The pendant cluster light is fun and if you have a dark room, finally, a fashionable lighting trend that is both functional and fun!

These Kathleen Hills lights are designed to hang as a cluster, either 12 or 16 lights, but they can also be hung as individual pendants. Could pendant clusters be the modern-day take on a traditional chandelier? Cluster lights are definitely on par with traditional chandeliers in terms of their price tag. Instead of using one light source to light an area they use multiple sources, which multiples their price tag, they combine excess with a luxury price tag. But we LOVE them.

Another firm favourite of ours is Tom Dixon’s copper shade, these aren’t designed to hang from a single ceiling rose, but they look great hung in close proximity to one another at different heights.

It’s rumoured that David Cameron has this light in his kitchen, but we’re not sure if he is on trend enough to have clustered his pendants – we suspect not.

If you’ve fallen in love with pendant clusters, this is the perfect trend to indulge in. Pendant light is always in, so if you invest in a cluster of pendants and one year down the line, clusters are no longer cool you can simply re-hang them as single pendants. You don’t need to have a designer bank balance to get the look, pendant clusters are available on the high-street or you can create your own.
