Some dads like to get stuck into DIY, while others would rather find a professional to do the job. Whichever category your dad falls into, it’s time to #doitfordad and give them a day off!
In celebration of Father’s Day 2021, we’re giving away a £1,000 home improvement to your dad, grandpa, stepdad, uncle, or anyone else you go to when something needs fixing.

What could £1,000 do?
A grand can go a long way in making your dad smile. It could…
Make get-togethers with his mates better
Electrician Andrew reckons £1,000 could transform a garden with some impressive garden lighting. That’s the perfect finishing touch, especially if he’s been working hard to get the garden in shape for summer.
Alternatively, specialist tradesman Ken says that £1,000 could get you a new length of garden wall.
Cut his to-do list down
Save your dad some time by using the money to get those electrical jobs on his to-do list done. A grand could get a new, up-to-date fuse box fitted or get modern sockets with built-in USB chargers installed, according to Andrew.
Give him space for his hobbies
Whether your dad enjoys gaming, playing an instrument or watching sports, turn the spare room into a dedicated space for him to indulge in his hobby without distractions.
£1,000 could cover the cost of repainting a small house or 2-bed apartment, or it could makeover a specific room, says painter and decorator Darren.
Refresh his kitchen
If your dad’s a keen chef, he’ll appreciate a kitchen update. Ken also says that £1,000 could be used to remove and replace laminate worktops, including fitting them around the hob. It could even be used to re-tile a whole kitchen!
