Twenty years ago owning a home worth 1 million pounds was an aspirational dream, now it’s a\u00a0depressing\u00a0truth. In some areas of London in particular, you will struggle to find a 1-bed flat under the 1 million mark, let alone a mansion house.<\/p>\n
A report from Lloyds TSB revealed the most expensive street in Britain as\u00a0Campden Hill Square in Holland Park, West London, home to bankers, diplomats and royalty with an average house price of \u00a34.9 million.<\/p>\n
The second most expensive street was found to be Parkside in Merton, where average prices were \u00a34.8 million. Unsurprisingly the most expensive streets in Britain are in Kensington and Chelsea, which have attracted the super rich since Henry IV made it a fashionable place to take up residence.<\/p>\n
Outside of London the home counties are host to some of the\u00a0priciest\u00a0streets. Properties in\u00a0Surrey’s\u00a0Leys Road cost an average of\u00a0\u00a33.1 million \u2013 the highest average outside of London.<\/p>\n
But high property prices aren’t limited to the South East of England, Brundenell Avenue in the famous Sandbanks location of Dorset has always been known for its mega house prices. Lloyds recent survey revealed that the average house price on Brundenell Avenue was \u00a32 million.<\/p>\n
