Sophisticated, laid-back and a natural partner for other current trends, such as metallics and geometrics, means there\u2019s a love to love about velvet. Try using it to add a layer of shimmering luxe to your home this season\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Make a statement with your sofa<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Chairs and sofas are probably one of the first places you\u2019d think about using velvet but there\u2019s no need for a whole room rethink if you love the look. The key is to use velvet sparingly. For example, you can help to ease a new chair or sofa into a current d\u00e9cor scheme by choosing one piece in velvet and contrasting with chairs in another material, such as linen or cotton, with a scatter cushion in the same velvet fabric. Alternatively, you could dip a toe in with an ottoman, footstool or pouffe.
