The <a href=\"https:\/\/helptogrow.campaign.gov.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Help to Grow: Digital<\/strong><\/a> programme aims to help SMEs become more efficient through the use of digital software.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How the programme works<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From Autumn 2021, small businesses can get free, impartial advice on how technology can help their business, through a new online platform. An example of this is the compulsory <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ratedpeople.com\/blog\/making-tax-digital-for-vat-what-you-need-to-know\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Making Tax Digital service<\/strong><\/a>, which requires tradespeople to use digital records and software to submit VAT returns. So, it\u2019s important that you get up to speed with the latest financial management software.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Pay less for the latest digital tools<\/strong>. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ratedpeople.com\/blog\/the-best-tech-for-your-trades-business\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Technology<\/a><\/strong> can help businesses operate more efficiently, which is particularly important for busy tradespeople. Through the scheme, you can access innovative digital tools for less.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Eligibility criteria<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The government will publish the full eligibility criteria this summer. However, they have said that vouchers are expected to be available to UK businesses that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Are registered at Companies House.<\/li><li>Have between 5 and 249 employees.<\/li><li>Have been trading for more than 12 months.<\/li><li>Are buying the discounted software for the first time.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We\u2019ll update this blog post with the final eligibility criteria once it\u2019s available. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to a<strong>pply<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Applications for the scheme aren\u2019t open yet. However, you can register your interest in the scheme today, by entering your Companies House number into the portal on <a href=\"https:\/\/register-help-to-grow-scheme.service.gov.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Gov.uk<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Help to Grow: Management programme<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>A new Executive Development programme helping senior leaders in SMEs improve their skills around leadership, innovation, marketing, financial management, responsible business and more.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignwide size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"766\" height=\"511\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ratedpeople.com\/blog\/assets\/2021\/03\/gov-digital-3.jpg\" alt=\"Video call on laptop\" class=\"wp-image-36772\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rp-prod-wordpress-b-content.s3.amazonaws.com\/assets\/2021\/03\/12114015\/gov-digital-3.jpg 766w, https:\/\/rp-prod-wordpress-b-content.s3.amazonaws.com\/assets\/2021\/03\/12114015\/gov-digital-3-498x332.jpg 498w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 766px) 100vw, 766px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How the programme works<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From June 2021, university business schools around the UK will be providing a 3-month training programme for 30,000 small businesses, through the <a href=\"https:\/\/smallbusinesscharter.org\/help-to-grow-management\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Help to Grow: Management<\/strong><\/a> programme. Training will be made up of a practical curriculum featuring:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>8 2-hour sessions online held by small business experts.<\/li><li>4 interactive case study workshops.<\/li><li>1:1 support from a business mentor.<\/li><li>Peer networking, including group calls where you can share experiences with other small business leaders.<\/li><li>An Alumni Programme, which includes business clinics, events with speakers and networking events.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The government will cover 90% of the cost of the programme. That makes it even more important that you develop your business resilience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Eligibility criteria<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">UK SME businesses from any sector (excluding charities), that have:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Been operating for over 1 year.<\/li><li>Have between 5 and 249 employees.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The participant from the business must be a decision maker or senior management team member, such as the Chief Executive or Finance Director. They must also commit to completing all sessions in the programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How to register<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Applications for the scheme aren\u2019t open yet. In the meantime, you can register to be notified when a programme opens near you on the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/smallbusinesscharter.org\/h2gm-registration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Small Business Charter website<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Interested in more government support available now?
