However, the upfront cost may put you off certain green home upgrades. Find out how much you could get by using the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/renewable-heat-incentive-calculator\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>domestic RHI payment calculator<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Who\u2019s eligible?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Homeowners and private or social landlords in England, Scotland, and Wales. Owners of new build properties aren\u2019t usually eligible, except if you\u2019re building your own home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>When\u2019s the deadline?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Midnight on 31<sup>st<\/sup> March 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How to apply<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before installing a renewable heat system in your home, follow Ofgem\u2019s guidance on preparing to apply for the scheme. This includes looking at the Domestic RHI Product Eligibility List. Then, you can apply for the domestic RHI. So, it\u2019s important to shop around. The current phase of the scheme (ECO3) is targeted towards lower income households. The improvements covered are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Insulation, ventilation, or draught proofing<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Installing or topping loft insulation up to 300mm.<\/li><li>Roof, loft, or eaves ventilation.<\/li><li>Cavity wall insulation or removing and replacing ineffective cavity wall insulation.<\/li><li>Draught proofing of doors and windows.<\/li><li>Providing a hot water cylinder jacket.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Heating<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Installing natural gas or oil central heating to replace solid fuel, LPG or Economy 7 systems.<\/li><li>Converting an Economy 7 system to a high efficiency electrical storage system, where gas and oil systems aren\u2019t viable.<\/li><li>Replacing or upgrading a boiler that\u2019s at least 15 years old, for householders that are either aged over 65, are in receipt of Disability Living Allowance, Personal Independence Payment or Attendance Allowance, or have a child that\u2019s in receipt of Child Benefit.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Windows<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Replacing single glazed windows.<\/li><li>Replacing defective double glazing.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Solid walls<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Solid wall insulation.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How much can I get?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A grant of up to \u00a37,500. If your home needs solid wall construction and insulation, you could get up to \u00a310,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you rent your home privately, your landlord will need to pay 50% of the total cost of the energy efficiency measures needed, as well as agreeing to the measures being installed and registering with the Department for Communities\u2019 Landlord Registration Scheme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Who\u2019s eligible?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">People that live in Northern Ireland with a total annual gross income of less than \u00a320,000, and:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Own their home.<\/li><li>Or rent their home from a private landlord.<\/li><li>Or have their day\/life interest in the home.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How to apply<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Council staff are visiting homes that are most likely to be affected by fuel property.
