{"id":934,"date":"2011-08-31T16:46:54","date_gmt":"2011-08-31T15:46:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.ratedpeople.com\/?p=934"},"modified":"2020-02-06T10:16:32","modified_gmt":"2020-02-06T10:16:32","slug":"more-people-are-saving-for-home-improvements","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ratedpeople.com\/blog\/more-people-are-saving-for-home-improvements","title":{"rendered":"More people are saving for home improvements"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The percentage of people hoping to put money aside for important <span style=\"color: #4f9d26;\"><span style=\"color: #4f9d26;\">home improvements<\/span><\/span> to their<span style=\"color: #4f9d26;\"> <span style=\"color: #4f9d26;\">residential properties<\/span><\/span> has risen, according to new statistics.<\/p>\n<p>Figures from Legal &amp; General showed 45 per cent of those polled were contemplating renovating their houses with savings money in August 2010.<\/p>\n<p>This represented a rise of two percentage points from February this year, with the survey revealing Britons are more inclined to save (60 per cent) than spend (23 per cent) at the moment.<\/p>\n<p>The economic crisis has forced people to consider their financial situation more closely, the organisation said, which has prompted an increasing number to concentrate on short-term requirements.<\/p>\n<p>Those considering<span style=\"color: #4f9d26;\"> <span style=\"color: #4f9d26;\">home improvement<\/span><\/span> projects were recently advised by the Office of Fair Trading to ensure <span style=\"color: #4f9d26;\"><span style=\"color: #4f9d26;\">recommended tradesmen<\/span><\/span> are hired.<\/p>\n<p>In July, the organisation claimed rogue <span style=\"color: #4f9d26;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ratedpeople.com\/local-builders\"><span style=\"color: #4f9d26;\">builders<\/span><\/a><\/span> were most common in roofing, tarmac and insulation jobs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The percentage of people hoping to put money aside for important home improvements to their residential properties has risen, according to new statistics.
