Setting the right budget

How much should you expect to pay?

We know it's difficult to estimate how much a project will cost, that's why we've surveyed our tradesmen to give you an idea of how much you should expect to pay for specific jobs. Tradesmen all across the country have contributed to the cost guides, so the costs you see are an approximate national average.

Glazed doors

Low High
Glazed doors £50 £130

Adding glazed doors to your property’s exterior gives a modern look and allows more light to come into your home, making them especially useful in terraced housing or homes with smaller windows. Glazed doors come in a variety of finishes and at a vast array of costs, so the finish that you choose will determine how much you pay for the job.

A new glazed door to replace a similar door, or a solid door, can be fitted reasonably quickly by an experienced carpenter, joiner or door- or window-fitting expert and should not take long to complete. Hinges or locking mechanisms may need to be added to the door or they may come already installed. Once these are added then the tradesman will hang the door and make any adjustments needed. A small amount of sanding or planing may be needed for a snug fit. Your tradesman may also add extras such as a letterbox or door numbers.

Rated People surveyed 83 of our carpenters and joiners across the country to give you an idea of the approximate costs for a range of work on external doors. We also asked about internal doors.

Please note these prices are average, do not include materials and are offered as guidance only, to help you budget when posting a job on Rated People. For a free quote tailored to your specific requirements, please contact our local carpenters and joiners.
