Hi Lorna , You can install a flue if planning to use log burning stove, a rough guide would be £250-£300 for scaffolding and round about £600-£800 to rebuild depending on detail of chimney, very straight forward make sure the tradesman shows you a drawing of how they build a chimney, we show you drawing and explain each bit of the chimney and what it is and why we do it. Ie lead trays, weep holes, flashing, hunching, corbelling etc. Any more info let me now. Marcus Executive Property Maintenance Ltd

I can't be too specific, unless I view the job or I would know the quotes. Recently priced a flue for a coal & wood burner, flue itself cost £563. Scaffolding, can be expensive, especially if your rebuilding chimney. Ballpark would be £400 to 1000, depending on size & type of access required. Is chimney, to be rebuilt in block & rendered or brick? Again, that could be £600 to 1000. You have to factor in lead flashing, that alone would be £200 to 350 for materials & labour.

What would you like to do now?
