Hi Carmen, you first want to use a stabiliser solution (Johnstones have one) on the walls then you can use your emulsions - always use trade paints these paints maybe a bit dearer but you get a better finish and you will only need to paint the wall twice instead of 3/4 with retail outlet paint shops.
good evening. before painting new plaster you need to use a new plaster paint which is normally called a mist coat. go to any good diy or trade supplier they will both sell new plaster paint. first coat needs to be watered down 50/50 with water and then i normally put a second coat on neat. after that you can apply any paints you want. kind regards stephen
Hi Carmen, If you got fresh plaster then you need to use undercoat or some paint for fresh plaster or you can mix good quality paint 50/50 with water after first coat put 2 coats with regular good quality paint
