Mirror or wall

Posted by Ann Charlesworth, on
I have a large, very heavy, wooden framed mirror to put up above the fire place. I have plasterboard walls. Normal picture hooks are not strong enough so what else can I use.

Dear Ann I would suggest to post job description on main website if you do not feel confident to do it your self. Once you've posted a job with us and had a local tradesman quote, you should have been sent an emailed link to his profile. From here, you can read previous customer recommendations and ratings. I hope this will help Best regards Rafal

Hi Ann. If the plasterboard is on top of a solid wall, long screws and wall plugs into the solid wall will support it. If it is a stud wall, screws into the timber frame should do the job. This may prove a bit tricky as you cant see them but with a bit of trial and error they can be found. Work from the center of the mirror, working outwards. This way,any missed attepts will be hidden behind the mirror. Hope this helps
