The lights in my bathroom (6LED spot lights) & the porch light do not

Posted by Sweta Lad, on
The lights in my bathroom (6LED spot lights) & the porch light do not come on. Bulbs have been changed but still nothing. All other lights are ok. Any advice?

Assuming these are on the same circuit then either line or neutral have become disconnected/damaged. the task needs a Qualified electrician with test equipment to find the problem. an experienced sparky would find the problem within a couple of hours. price around £100

Assuming the fuse or circuit breaker is still switched/in tact??? you will find that either the LINE (red or brown) or NEUTRAL (black or blue) is broken somewhere in the circuit. You might be able to work out which way the circuit is wired (ie which order the rooms are wired in) and the one prior to the bathroom or porch may have a wire which has come loose in a ceiling rose or junction box. Unfortunately a junction box may be hidden so could make this task very difficult, therefore requiring an electrician to properly fault find - which is too demanding for those with little or no knowledge of electrical systems. It is also common for rodents to chew through cables causing the same problems.
