Leaking heat exchanger - need new boiler. 2xCH circuits and gravity hot water circuit. Why do regulations now demand a pumped hot water circuit? Costly!

David, I am not sure why anyone would say that you need a pumped Domestic Hot Water if it is gravity fed. If you are changing the Boiler and currently your Domestic Hot Water from your Hot Water Cylinder is on Gravity Feed then you do not need a Domestic Hot Water Pump. You need to ask why you need a Pump and then contact another Plumber and ask them if that is correct, has there may be an exception why you need a pump. hello david when you change from your old system to install an new boiler you have to meet part L building regs this states that you have to make it a fully pumped system ( y or s plan ) this is so you have more control of the temperature and effiency of the system . yes this is more costly , but will save you money in the future on your bills thanks richard

Hi I strongly agree with a Wiliam and I am confused why you were advised by a plumber to get a pump to existing gravity system. Maybe they mention to get a pump impeller for a shower if you need one

What would you like to do now?
