Clearly the name should have given the game away, Your plight sounds awful and distressing for you and i sympathise with you one hundred percent, but this happens so to often and its still giving this industry a bad name, far to often a client is driven by cost more than quality and proffesionalism, Many times i come across this sort of problem and it is upsetting for everyone, but in the true light of day there are hundreds of good honest tradespeople out there all carrying out a good job with pride and expertise, im sure locally to you there is someone who can remedy your plight for a reasonable cost to a high standard. Please dont dismiss all real tradesmen as the same, we are not and many tradesmen have pride and honesty as there business ethic.
