I am looking to have laminate fitted to my lounge (roughly 18sqm) and possibly upstairs landing (roughly 2sqm). Currently trying to get some quotes in and would like to have the work done within the next two months or so.
We require our landing and stairway to be carpeted. This should include the supply of underlay, carpet grippers, carpet and thresholds. The landing provides access to 5 rooms. The landing is approximately 3.7sq.m in area and there are 12 steps.
We require a stair runner on the stairway and have provided images of the style we are looking for.
I am looking for quotes for two jobs:
1. Sanding, repairing and lacquering of parquet flooring (I believe it’s hardwood)
It is for a hallway and lounge (c. 8.5m x 3m and 1.5m x 5m)
There is some expansion corking around the fireplace and stairs which needs to be replaced.
The floor was also under carpet for 20 odd years, so some bricks need to be re-glued and there maybe some staples which I missed. There are a few nails o could not remove from the floor.
Around the front door there is an area cut out for a door Matt, some bricks and some of the dowling look like they are in poor condition and may need to be replaced.
2. We are having some other works done in the house and need to lay 4 new blocks. Our builder can build the channel for the new bricks we just need to know the approximate dimensions. The subfloor is concrete.
I'm renovating a small 3-bed semi and need the following (bulleted for ease).
Front room - needs new carpet grips and underlay/carpet fitting (approx 3m x 4m)
Rest of Downstairs - laminate flooring fitting (dining room, kitchen, hallway and two utility rooms)
Stairs - underlay/carpet fitting (two flights, half landing and landing)
Bedroom 1 - laminate and underlay (approx 3m x 3m)
Bedroom 2 - tbd (approx 3m x 3m)
Bedroom 3 - underlay/carpet fitting (approx 2.4m x 3m)
All dimensions are from memory so I will provide exact details. You're free to view and measure if you prefer. I'm aware there are a lot of fiddly angles on the downstairs open plan laminate but we can break it up with flooring strips if needed.
Don't worry about providing an exact quote through here, if you're reasonably priced I'm happy for you to view and then quote. For what it';s worth, I'm not a mug though so save the few quid to send me a quote if your quote isn't going to stand up to scrutiny :)
I wanted to have engineered wood flooring installed. I did hire a tradesman but unfortunately, he could not come due to injury he got recently.
The area is about 24sqm and is carpeted at the moment. It has wood planks (suspended) underneath. The floor is good condition but maybe few will need nailing.
I already had quotes between £180 to £300 excluding materials so please let me know if the price seems reasonable to you.
