  • We have a standard 2 bedroom terraced house which has had a very dodgy attic conversion carried out (not recently) to give an additional "room", but the space created is nowhere near the standard needed to meet buildings regs and so needs to be sorted out (max ceiling height ~ 1.8m, no velux windows, probably no insulation etc.). We will basically need a new conversion doing from scratch. To gain additional height we will need the ceilings dropped on the first floor - current ceiling height is close to 3m so there is plenty of room to lower them. Looking for someone with experience to do a "standard" simple conversion.

  • I am looking to have my loft converted into a bedroom. The dimensions are roughly 10 foot 2 by 18 & 1/2 feet of clear floor space. There is more space behind the beams that some from ceiling to floor, maybe 8ft. The height along the apex of the roof is 10 ft at its highest, going to 6 and 1/2 door where the beams meet the floor. There is a non opening velux type window installed and the floor is currently walkable but all this was done before I bought the flat so I don't have specific details.
